1. What this site is
The site displays publicly available weather, marine, and space-weather products from NOAA, the National Weather Service, and other public sources, arranged in a forecasting workflow. It is operated by an individual student as a hobby and learning project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of NOAA, the NWS, or any other agency whose data it displays.
2. No warranty
The site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind. Data may be delayed, missing, mislabeled, or misinterpreted. Panels depend on third-party services that can change or go offline without notice. Derived values shown on the dashboard, such as the impact index, weather story, and profile metrics, are my own calculations for educational purposes and are not official forecasts.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or cost arising from use of, or reliance on, anything shown on this site. You use it at your own risk.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the site in a way that overloads the public data providers it relies on, for example by scripted reloading.
- Do not misrepresent the site or its content as an official government product.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation or hosting.
5. Content and attribution
Weather data, imagery, and map tiles remain the property of their respective providers and are subject to their terms. NOAA and NWS products are generally in the public domain. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, styled by CARTO. RainViewer, Tropical Tidbits, College of DuPage, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, and NASA SDO retain their own rights. The site's original code, layout, and writing are © Florian Kroker McCormack. Source code is available on GitHub and may be reused for personal, non-commercial learning with attribution.
6. External links
Many panels link to agency and third-party websites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, which I do not control.
