Privacy Policy
floriankm.com is a personal, non-commercial weather dashboard. It has no server, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. This page explains exactly what your browser sends and stores when you use it.
Who runs this site
The site is built and maintained by Florian Kroker McCormack, a student in New York, NY. Questions about this policy can be sent to floriangkmcc@gmail.com.
What this site does not do
- It does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to any server operated by me.
- It does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or social-media embeds.
- It does not require an account, login, or email address.
- It does not sell or share data, because it has no data to sell or share.
Location
The dashboard needs a location to show a point forecast. It uses New York, NY by default. If you type a location or press GPS, the coordinates are used in your browser only and are sent directly to the public data providers listed below to fetch the forecast for that point.
- GPS button. Your browser asks for permission first. If you allow it, the coordinates are read once and never sent to me. You can revoke the permission in your browser settings at any time.
- Typed city or address. The text is sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to convert it to coordinates. Latitude/longitude entered directly is not sent to a geocoder.
- Saved location. Your last-used location is stored in your browser's local storage so the dashboard opens where you left it. It never leaves your device. Clear it with Clear saved settings in the footer.
Third-party services your browser contacts
Every panel loads live products directly from public providers. When your browser requests those images, tiles, fonts, or JSON feeds, the provider receives your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the requested URL, exactly as with any website. For location-based panels, the request URL includes the coordinates of the point you selected. Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle that information.

Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies of its own. It uses browser local storage for two small preferences: whether you have dismissed the cookie notice, and your last-used location. Details are in the Cookie & Storage Notice. Third-party providers listed above may set their own cookies when your browser loads their resources; I do not control or read those.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected or retained by me, there is nothing for me to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Anything stored in your browser can be cleared by you at any time with the footer button or through your browser settings. Residents of the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have the same practical position: no data is held.
Changes
If the site ever adds a feature that changes what is collected, this page and the date at the top will be updated before that feature goes live.
